Knowledge Base: challenge etiquette
Group challenges can be anything from a fun little game through to a more serious competition with prizes.
When it comes to challenge etiquette, beyond RedBubble's community guidelines, you should follow the rules of each individual challenge. RedBubble is usually okay with people asking for votes, provided it is done in a non-intrusive way. Here are some examples to give you a sense of how RedBubble etiquette applies to challenges:
Generally Okay
- Promoting a whole challenge without highlighting specific
works
- Asking for votes in your RedBubble journal, profile, or in the
descriptions of your artworks
- Asking for votes on your blog, or sites like twitter and
facebook
- Emailing your friends asking them to sign up and vote for you
- Linking directly to your challenge entry
Not Okay
- Bubblemailing individuals asking for votes on a particular work
may be reported as SPAM
- Posting "vote for me" type threads in the forums may be
considered SPAM
- Commenting on the work of others with requests to vote on your
work may reported as SPAM
- Using group messages to ask for votes on a particular work is
considered a misuse of host
privileges
If you are not sure, refer to the rules of each specific challenge, or your group hosts for guidance.
