What is a Base Price?

Unlike your typical art gallery, Redbubble does not charge our artists any fee to sell, or any commission on any of their sales. Instead, we simply set the base price of the product and let the artist set the retail value by adding their mark up.

Depending on the delivery address, the base prices are different to take advantage of local production, differing material costs, and taxes relative to the various artist, production and delivery countries.

When viewing the works on Redbubble, we assume delivery to the country you're currently in, so the base price may update when entering a different country in the checkout.

Approximate base prices are listed below by shipping to / destination country.

Volume discounts

Orders of 8 - 15 cards receive a 20% discount and orders of 16+ receive a 30% discount. Orders of 6 or more stickers receive a 50% discount. The artist markup amount is a percentage of the base price so when a base price changes, the dollar amount of the artist markup consequently also changes.

VAT

The VAT rate we use for the UK is 20% and for all shipments to continental Europe we use the relevant country VAT rate, but for simplicity we have used a VAT rate of 20% to display the Euro prices above.

Australian artists and GST

Depending on your account settings, your base prices may include, or not include GST resulting in your marked-up prices being different. We recommend seeking professional advice on whether you should or should not register for GST, and updating your tax settings accordingly.

Subject to change

As all currencies, labour and material costs are in constant fluctuation, there is the occasional need to alter base prices. This happens very rarely and can go both ways. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
