How do I add work to Redbubble?

What file format should I use?
Can I change placement and background colours?
How do I upload for different products?

Adding your artwork to Redbubble is as easy as first signing in and heading to your homepage.

From the Drop down menu on the left of the page (underneath your avatar), just click on Add New Work.

From here, you'll be taken directly to the Add New Work page. From this page you can upload your artwork to Redbubble as a number of different products, as well as decide exactly how your work will appear on them.

To upload a file, click on the "choose image" button next to any product option, and a file upload box will pop up for you. You can then select the file that you'd like from your computer. Alternatively, just drag and drop the file from your computer to the highlighted area. Different products require different file types, so be sure to check that you have the right file handy for the right product. You can read about all the different sizes, formats and colour profiles that make for the best design ready for upload.

While your image is uploading, you have time to fill in all the details about your work including relevant tags, available products for sale available products for sale and the artist markup. You also have the ability to pick the title for your work, add the work to a group or choose which medium(s) were used to create the work.

  1. The title of your Design
  2. Here you can describe what inspired you or the materials used
  3. Tag words that help categorise your work by style or anything else you can think of (used when searching Redbubble)
  4. The chance to select which medium used to create your masterpiece
  5. This allows you to set a default product which is the first thing visitors will see
  6. Choose to keep the work private or make it public for all to see
  7. If your work is considered mature content please select here
  8. The best part, now save it!

Editing work before Upload


Garments


For example if you're uploading a T-Shirt or case design, there are a few things that will help you determine exactly how your work will be positioned on the product. After uploading the file, a new window will open with some handy features.

  2. If you have a file specifically for tees, you can upload it here or just re-upload and start afresh by replacing image
  3. Use the drop down menu to select which style of tee you wish to appear for the preview
  4. Choose if you would prefer the design to default to the front or back of the garment
  5. Pick a default colour and also customise the colour range available for your design
  6. Reduce the size of your design by using the scale slider
  7. Play with the centre design feature, either vertically or horizontally
  8. Change the mark up % and product availability
  9. Re-position your design
  10. Apply Changes or ask for a little extra help if needed

To make sure your design is printed in the correct template of the tee, we have also included a dotted orange outline of the printing area. All you need to do is click and drag your image over the tee and if you get too close to the edge, this outline will appear to let you know you've reached the edge of the print area.

  4. Pick a background colour that you think suits you design best if needed
  5. Reduce the size of your design by using the scale
  6. Play with the centre design feature, either vertically or horizontally
  7. Change the mark up % and product availability
  8. Re-position your design
  9. Apply Changes or ask for a little extra help if needed

As each case style differs slightly when it comes to button and camera placement, you will find a transparent outline of the case behind your design. This will not print on the final product but is included here to show you how the design will print onto the style of case.

Once you are completely happy with how your design looks on each product, click the "Save Work" button to make it available for sale.

Once you've successfully uploaded your unique masterpiece, you can then view your portfolio to manage your work and markup %.
